James Horsman

James has sixteen years of experience in advising some of the world’s most successful brands in growing and managing reputation.  His three core areas of specialism are professional services, financial services and energy.

He has served as Head of Marketing & Communications at top tier consulting firms Bain & Company, A.T. Kearney and EY – as well as having held senior leadership positions at global communications firms Edelman, Hill & Knowlton and FTI Consulting.

His career has frequently seen him advise clients on cross border transactions and brand development involving a range of complex regulatory and reputational challenges.  This has located him in a range of diverse markets including Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and the United States as well as the United Kingdom.  His work has included acting as a lead advisor in petrochemical major SABIC’s $11.6bn acquisition of GE Plastics in 2007, as well as acting as an advisor to the Boards of Northern Rock, Allied Irish and Anglo Irish Banks following the 2008 financial crisis.

James is particularly skilled in advising Managing Partners and Chief Executives in implementing internal change emanating from large scale M&A and mission critical restructuring that requires rapid understanding and immediate resolution.

James has a degree in History & Politics from Warwick University and was Called to the Bar of England & Wales as a double Scholar of Lincoln’s Inn in 2000, having completed his training as a corporate Barrister at City University and the Inns of Court School of Law, London.  He sits as a Board Director and Trustee of the international children’s charity, the Railway Children.
