PATRICK LAW
Patrick has over 25 years of experience in improving how companies communicate with their senior stakeholders. Particular areas of expertise include integrated communications to support corporate profile, issue management, mergers, demergers, management changes, regulatory issues and company reporting.
He has advised five FTSE100 CEOs on communications strategy particularly on building narratives and then delivering communication programmes with senior politicians and government officials, the media, shareholders and company employees. He has written widely for CEOs including speeches, presentations and articles for national newspapers.
Most recently he was Director of Corporate Affairs at Barratt Developments where he oversaw a step change in the company’s reputation including putting in place a major refresh of the organisation’s vision and priorities. He also successfully managed the company’s reputation through a period of turbulence following the collapse of the housing market.
Prior to Barratt, Patrick held various senior roles in the energy/utility sector including Director of Communications at British Gas and Director of Public Affairs at Centrica. He handled numerous high profile media and public policy issues ranging from regulatory inquiries, to price rises and tax changes.
He has significant experience of remodelling communication departments to increase their effectiveness.
Patrick has a degree in PPE from Oxford, is a Fellow of the RSA and an experienced charity trustee.
